Items and Upgrade Components in World of Warcraft
Upgrades can increase the value of weapons and armor. However upgrading your magic and standard equipment isn't worth the cost as uncommon or exclusive equipment can quickly surpass it.
An item can be upgraded up to six times. Each upgrade will add points to the gauge for the item's level.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to improve an item and boost its characteristics. Glyphs are typically used to upgrade a weapon, or armor but they can also be used to upgrade the appearance of a ring, hat, necklace, or other accessory. Glyphs are available at various levels and are available from vendors located in the city of Deneb. They're expensive, but worth it because they can increase the stats of an item.
A glyph is a character encoded that represents the shape of a letter, numeral, or symbol. It has a distinct appearance and has an unique code that refers to it in various fonts. In addition to the regular letters, glyphs can include special characters such as mathematical symbols and arrows. They may be used to represent icons or other symbols that are commonly used in a particular language. There are also ligatures which join two letters and swashes, which are decorative symbols.
There are several types of glyphs and a font can have a variety of variations. The default glyphs of Adobe Caslon(tm) Pro, for instance, contain all of the standard characters as well as ornaments, swashes, fractions and ligatures. You can view these variations in the Glyphs Panel and insert them directly into your document.
Glyph measurements are the parameters which determine how a text layout is constructed. These metrics are determined by several variables, including the advance width and side bearings. These measurements are essential to ensure that glyphs fit perfectly on the screen and display properly in text.
The Glyphs panel is a powerful tool for designing documents and modifying existing ones. The Glyphs Panel can be confusing because it displays all the possible glyphs for the font currently in use and not just those which have been added most recently. Click the cycle widget just to the left of "Glyphs" to get an in-depth look at the glyphs. You can then select to see the panel collapsed or expanded, or only show recently added the glyphs.
Growthstones
When you upgrade the armor, weapon or accessory, you can use Growthstones to boost the stats of the item. Items that have upgrade components cannot be used to create new items.
A suffix is a second word or group of characters that adds meaning to another word. For instance the suffix -tion in create, or phoria in the sense of feeling. Suffixes can also alter the speech part of the word. For example, English's suffix -er and German's suffix -ismus. They can even alter the form of the word. For example the word defenseless changes to unprotected.
There are many kinds of suffixes that range from verbs to nouns to adjectives and adverbs. Suffixes can alter the meaning or pronunciation of words. Certain have specific rules. Suffixes can also be used to alter the grammatical structure of a word, such as adding -ness to make a word an adjective, or -ic to make the possessive of a noun.
Suffixes aren't just used to give a new meaning to words, but can be used to add names of individuals and places. A man who is single could have the surname "Paulauskaite" and women who are married would be able to use "Paulauskiene".
The most common suffixes are those which indicate the status of a person, such as -ion, -ist, -us, -ism and -es. They can also be used to describe the traits of a person's personality like -iveness, or -phoria.
Items affixes can be used to give weapons and armor additional parameters. They could be an amalgamation of one or more suffixes and/or prefixes such as -Fiery which increases atk power by introducing fire elemental damage. Item affixes are available on most items of level 80, with the exception of crafting ascended armor and trinkets.
